What's on the property

Saltwater pool

Balinese sukabumi stone, 4 feet deep, with a 2 foot kiddie pool. Underground water, so not always perfectly clear. Open 24 hours.

Shared kitchen

Gas cooker, oven, microwave, air fryer, blender, cooler box, full utensils. BBQ pit RM20 a night, charcoal not supplied. Hot pot is free, booking needed.

Fishing pond

Tilapia and patin. Catch them and grill them.

Forest reserve

The Lentang Forest Reserve sits across the valley, home to gibbons, hornbills, hawks and owls. The Nuang Mountain trail starts a few minutes away, guide required.

Durian trees

Mature kampung durian trees on the grounds. When they fall, usually July to September and again in December, they're complimentary for guests.

Weather and nature

At 1,600 feet, days usually sit in the mid to high 20s, though it can push past 30 on a hot one, and nights drop to about 19°C. Bring a light jacket. Heavy rain can arrive suddenly and come in sideways, so shut the chalet windows whenever you leave.

Gibbons, rarely seen but often heard. Their whooping calls carry across the valley in the mornings. Hornbills, hawks and owls also live in the reserve.

Nuang Mountain trail starts a few minutes' walk from the resort. A guide is required.

Lata Tampik waterfall and five small rivers are scattered around Janda Baik; two rivers are a 5 minute walk, turn left or right out of the front gate.

Is the pool always clear?

The saltwater pool uses underground water, so it is occasionally not perfectly clear. It stays open 24 hours for staying guests.

Are there stairs?

Yes. Stairs connect the parking, pool, kitchen and chalets, and there is no luggage-carrying service. The property may not suit anyone unsteady on steps.

Will we see wildlife?

Gibbons are rarely seen but often heard calling in the mornings. Hornbills, hawks and owls also live in the reserve across the valley.

Can we hike the mountain trail?

Yes, the Nuang Mountain trail starts a few minutes' walk from the resort, but a guide is required.

How big is the property?
